Jean Jones was a dedicated, enthusiastic member of the University and Oxford community, and a true advocate for the Ole Miss student. An Ole Miss graduate herself, Dr. Jones served the University for more than twenty-five years. She was among the first female departmental directors at the University. Whether she was teaching, counseling, mentoring or advising, she was always a friend. Jean lost her battle with cancer in the spring of 1997.
